About Kenneth Lawn & Labor

Along the old fence rows that still thread through Lee's Summit, Osage orange trees drop their hedge apples every fall: green, knobby and heavy enough to stop a mower blade cold. Kenneth Lawn & Labor is a lawn care business with labor right in its name, and that fits a gray November afternoon spent gathering what the season has scattered across a yard. The grass gets a last mow before the cold, hedge apples and fallen branches come off the turf, and beds are cleared so the Missouri clay underneath can rest until spring. It is plain, hands-on outdoor work, measured by how bare and orderly the ground looks when the day is done. When the first hard frost silvers the rooftops, a yard tended this way meets winter squared away.
