Rick's Neighborhood Lawn Mowing

About Rick's Neighborhood Lawn Mowing

A neighborhood route has a shape to it: mailbox to mailbox, one side of the street and then the other, the trailer ramp dropping at the same hour every week. Rick's Neighborhood Lawn Mowing runs Kearney that way — mowing, trimming and a clean blow-off, house after house, until the block reads as one continuous lawn. There's something companionable about the work; you learn which yard holds water and which one bakes by two o'clock. Grass in this town grows with real enthusiasm from April onward, and keeping ahead of it is most of the craft. Kearney and the streets around it, out toward Holt and Mosby.
