First Avenue Lawn Care

About First Avenue Lawn Care

On the north end, where the numbered avenues run down toward the river, late-August afternoons arrive hot and still with thunderheads stacking over the Kansas line. First Avenue Lawn Care works those grid blocks between the storms, when the turf has taken a beating from heat and then springs back overnight after an inch of rain. Late-summer mowing is mostly restraint: cut high, cut often enough, and let the roots hold on. Edging brings the curb line back after weeks of growth crowding over it, and the trimmer clears fence rows and hydrant bases. There is real pride in a lawn that still looks sharp through the hardest month of the year.
