Urban Diamond Lawn

About Urban Diamond Lawn

Late afternoon over this stretch of central Missouri, the light turns gold across the rolling ground and every mown stripe stands up in it. Urban Diamond Lawn works that hour on Chouteau lawns — mowing, string trimming, edging, and hauling the yard debris off so nothing is left behind but the pattern. Thunderheads stack up in the west most July evenings and the cicadas wind tight in the elms, and there is real satisfaction in beating the rain to the last pass. Grass here grows fast and then grows again; a lawn is never finished, only kept. Keeping it, week after week and yard after yard across Chouteau and the small towns around it, is the whole of the job.
