About Turf Boss
Brookside's streets curve under a canopy of old sycamores and oaks planted along with the houses decades ago, roots by now pushing up through some of the same sidewalks they shade. Turf Boss works the lawns and drives tucked under that canopy, where frost can linger in the shaded stretches long after the sunny side of the street has already thawed. Clearing a driveway that sits half in tree shadow and half in open sun means treating each half differently, since the ice stays stubborn where the light never quite reaches. Kansas City mornings like that come in still and cold, the street quiet except for a blade scraping down to bare concrete one drive at a time. Leaving a whole shaded block finally clear, root-heaved sidewalks and all, is its own kind of satisfying work.
