About Rosehill Gardens

Loose Park's rose garden goes dormant every winter, canes cut back and mulched, the whole formal grid of beds reduced to bare dirt and a little snow. Rosehill Gardens tends properties across Kansas City with some of that same formal shape—clipped hedges, structured beds, walks laid out on a grid—and in winter that means clearing those same precise paths without disturbing the beds they run beside. A garden built for roses looks almost severe under snow, every straight line and corner suddenly visible in a way summer never shows. Clearing a walk through that kind of layout calls for a steadier hand than an open lawn would, keeping the blade to the path and off the beds themselves. Whatever it looked like in July, a garden cleared bare and square in January says just as much about the place.
