About Cass County Lawn Co.

Summer evenings around Johnson hold on a long time — the light goes copper across the fescue, gravel dust hangs where a truck went by, and the heat finally lets go of the ground. Cass County Lawn Co. works that end of the day, cutting, string-trimming around the posts and the AC unit, blowing the walks clean before the fireflies come up out of the ditch grass. A mowed lawn at dusk has a smell to it that nobody has ever improved on. The stripes run out toward the field line and stop where the yard stops, clean as a ruled page. Week after week through the growing season, in Johnson and the towns just up the road.
