Marino's Lawn Care

About Marino's Lawn Care

On a July dusk east of Joachim, the air off the Mississippi bluffs comes in warm and heavy, and the yards up on the high ground catch whatever breeze there is to catch. Marino's Lawn Care works that last cool hour of the day, when barge lights start moving on the river below and the grass is finally done fighting the heat. Mowing, trimming and edging carry the season, with cleanups when a yard has collected more than it can hold. Missouri summer means turf can be lush one week and stressed the next, so the height comes up when the weather turns hard on it. A lawn cut in evening light, its stripes running toward the bluff line, is a good enough reason to keep doing this work.
