About Holmes Outdoor Maintenance

March around Joachim is a negotiation: fescue that went straw-brown over winter starts pushing green at the crown, the ground is still soft, and everybody is watching for the week the first cut becomes possible. Holmes Outdoor Maintenance keeps track of that turn, opening the season with a cleanup that pulls off the winter litter before a blade ever touches the yard. From there it settles into a rhythm of mowing, trimming and edging that runs straight through the long green months. Spring here is loud with rain, so the schedule bends around the wet and catches the yard when cutting will help rather than tear. There is a particular pleasure in the first mow of the year, when a lawn goes from ragged to intentional in a single afternoon.
