About WestCo Outdoor Services

West of downtown, Truman Boulevard climbs hard out of the river valley, and every subdivision built along that ridge catches the wind before the rest of Jefferson City feels it. WestCo Outdoor Services runs those west-side streets first on a snow morning, because a driveway on that grade can freeze into a slide if it's left even an hour past sunrise. The light up there is different too—wide open, no bluff or bottomland to block it, so fresh snow throws back every bit of the morning sun. Clearing a steep driveway on that ridge and salting it before the ice can set is a small, exacting job, but a slid car at the bottom of one of those hills is not a small problem. By the time the wind dies down midday, the ridge streets are usually the first ones clear.
