Steve’s Trees and Contracting

About Steve’s Trees and Contracting

The refinery lights out toward Sugar Creek throw a low orange glow over the Fairmount streets some winter nights, just enough to work by when Steve's Trees and Contracting runs its plows well after dark, clearing driveways for the early shift before anyone's alarm goes off. This edge of Independence sits close enough to the old refinery grounds that the neighborhood keeps its own rhythm, cars pulling out for work while most of the county's still asleep. A contracting crew used to working odd hours doesn't mind the timing — headlights catching snowflakes still coming down, the scrape of the blade the only sound on a quiet street. Dawn comes up over a stretch of driveways already bare and salted, the plow long since parked and quiet.
