Late August in northern Boone County turns fescue the color of straw and convinces half the county their lawn has quit. It hasn't — one good week of September rain and the whole thing comes back green from the crown. LaVere Lawn & Landscaping works both halves of that: mowing high through the dry weeks so the roots stay shaded, then dropping the deck back down and getting after trimming, edging, and the shrub lines and planting beds once the ground cools. Rocky Fork yards reward patience more than force in that stretch. Walking a property in early October and finding the turf recovered, the edges reset and everything holding its shape is an honest kind of pleasure.
