About Portis Lawn and Landscape LLC

Republic's east edge is a seam: new streets on one side, hayfield and hedgerow on the other, all of it draining slow toward the James. Portis Lawn and Landscape LLC works that seam, cutting grass, running the trimmer along walks and foundations, and clearing what the wind drops. April mornings after a rain smell like cut fescue and wet limestone, and a lawn done right holds its lines all week. In August, when the ground goes hard and pale, the work turns patient — mowing high, taking care, waiting on September. Every yard out here is a small square of the old prairie, kept.
