CRH Lawn and Land

About CRH Lawn and Land

Late in October the old oaks along the Ladue line let go nearly all at once, and for two weeks the lawns of Creve Coeur disappear under a brown-and-gold drift that crackles underfoot. CRH Lawn and Land spends that stretch clearing them — leaves off the turf, out of the bed edges, away from the walks, until the grass can breathe and take the last of the low autumn sun. The final mowings of the year go on top of that, a little shorter each pass, the mower voice carrying farther now that the air has gone thin and cold. Trimming and edging still get their turn, because a yard put to bed properly ought to have crisp lines under all that quiet. When the wind comes through in November and finds nothing left to lift, the season has been closed out right.
