Strong Roots

About Strong Roots

Dig a few inches into a Concord yard and you meet the dense clay of St. Louis County, sticky in April and hard as fired brick by late July. Strong Roots is a fitting name for lawn care in ground like that, where grass lives or dies by how deep it can reach. Regular mowing and lawn care that keeps turf vigorous enough to push down into that stubborn subsoil is the whole idea. When the dog days bear down on the Mississippi valley, a deep-rooted lawn is the one still holding its color.
