South of Columbia the land steps down toward the Missouri River bottoms, and at dusk from up near Hartsburg the whole flat spread of it turns blue. The Other Side LLC works both halves of that country — town yards on their weekly turn, and bigger lots out where a lawn simply runs into a field. Mowing, trimming and edging carry the season; brush cutting keeps the back boundaries from creeping in on the mowed ground. Fall means hauling leaves off and closing a yard down before the earth freezes. The name is a fair description of the job: you arrive at a place that got away from someone, and you leave it on the other side of that.
