About North MO Rockscape Company LLC

Spring arrives in Livingston County in fits — a warm week, a cold rain, and then the whole countryside greens at once. Around the lake at Simpson Park the turf wakes early, and so does North MO Rockscape Company LLC, out with the mowers as soon as the ground firms enough to carry a wheel. The soil here is heavy clay over stubborn stone, so grass that pushes up through it has earned a careful cut: set at a height that lets it hold water, trimmed close along the beds, cleared of the winter's litter of sticks and matted leaves. The reward is that first true mow of the year, the smell of it drifting down the block, a yard suddenly reading as tended rather than merely thawed. From there it is a long green season, and they keep pace with it week by week.
