Hanson Mowing

About Hanson Mowing

Down in the bottoms off Long Road the land lies flat enough to show every line a mower makes, and Hanson Mowing has a fondness for a straight one. Noon in mid-July, blades sharp, deck set high enough that the fescue keeps its own shade — that is the craft, plain and repeatable. Mowing, trimming around posts and tree trunks, edging the drive and walk, clippings blown back off the concrete before the truck rolls. When the leaves come down there is raking and hauling; when spring opens up there is seed for the bare spots. Simple work, done the same way every week, which is exactly why it looks the way it does.
