Thompsons Home And Lawn

About Thompsons Home And Lawn

By October the bluff road above the river goes gold and the hackberries let go all at once, and every yard in Cape Girardeau turns into a leaf problem waiting on somebody. Thompsons Home And Lawn takes it on — mowing straight through the last warm weeks, pulling leaves off the turf before they mat and smother it, cutting a fresh edge where the walk meets grass, and feeding the lawn so it comes back thick when March finally turns. Out near Cape Rock the wind fights you all afternoon; in the sheltered streets the leaves simply pile and wait. Either way the day ends the same, with a lawn open to the light and a driveway swept down to bare concrete. When spring comes back around, so does the routine: mow, trim, edge, week after week, from Cape Girardeau up through Jackson and Oak Ridge.
