Cabral's Tree Service

About Cabral's Tree Service

Fog off the Mississippi tends to sit low over Cape Girardeau's bluffs on a cold morning, blurring the floodwall murals downtown until the sun finally burns through sometime after eight. Cabral's Tree Service works the yards and streets above that river, clearing driveways first and then checking the old shade trees around town for any limb bowed low under a wet snow. Elevation changes fast within a few blocks here, so a driveway near the river bottoms can be glazed with ice while one up near the university is only lightly dusted. Getting a walk cleared before students cross campus or a shift starts downtown near the courthouse is ordinary work that still matters with every storm. By the time the fog lifts and the bridge is visible again from the bluff, the morning's driveways are already dark and dry, salt catching what little light there is.
