About Lawn Lizard

August in Franklin County is one long bright squint — fescue going quiet, lizards flat on the warm patio stone by two in the afternoon. Grass mowed at the right height through that stretch comes back green in September instead of struggling, so the deck goes up and the passes stay patient. Every visit still ends the same way: trimmed around trees and posts, a cut line along the walk, drive and patio left clear. Beds get mulched in the spring to hold what moisture there is, shrubs get taken back, and the leaves get cleared once the heat finally lets go. This is hot-summer country, and the lawns that come through it are the ones somebody was watching.
