DC Lawn Care

About DC Lawn Care

Cadet sits in the old mineral country of Washington County, where the Ozark foothills begin in earnest and the gravel underfoot glints white with chert. Ground like that asks something of a lawn — thin soil over rock, oak and shortleaf pine throwing shade across half the yard by afternoon — and DC Lawn Care mows it accordingly, higher where the sun is hard, closer where the shade keeps things soft. Mowing, trimming and edging make up the week, with cleanups when the wind has been through the pines. Blades meet stone out here more often than they should, so the cut stays sharp and the lines stay clean anyway. Come dusk, when the hollow cools and a whippoorwill starts up somewhere past the treeline, the yard is trimmed to its corners and quiet.
