Burks Dirt Wurks

About Burks Dirt Wurks

A good storm around Burr Oak doesn't just close the driveways — it can bury a low-water crossing until nobody's quite sure where the road ends and the creek starts. Burks Dirt Wurks runs the equipment that handles that kind of ground, pushing drifts back from a crossing or a hollow lane with the same machines that grade a house pad the rest of the year. The work often waits for early afternoon, once enough daylight has come up to see the creek gravel under the snow and judge where the bank actually sits. Opening a hollow road again means a family isn't stranded on the wrong side of a two-foot creek waiting on a thaw that might be a week off. Tire tracks line back up with where the gravel has always run, the old road found again under all that white.
