About Lawn-Boyz

The first real mow of the year in Bucklin usually lands in April, after a week of gray drizzle has turned the whole of Linn County an almost unreasonable green. Lawn-Boyz takes it from there — mowing, trimming and edging yards in town and along the roads that run out toward the grain elevators and the flat farm ground beyond. Prairie towns like this one show a lawn plainly; there is no hillside to hide behind, so a crooked pass is visible from the highway. Straight lines, matched heights, a clean stripe up to the sidewalk: that is what a yard here should look like on a Saturday. When the corn comes off and the leaves follow, the cleanup work carries the season out.
