About Lawn Sculptors

By late afternoon the ridges around Bourbon go gold and then gray fast, the Ozark hardwoods holding onto whatever light is left while the valleys below sink into shadow first. This crew spends that last stretch of daylight shaping clean lines into a snowbank, the same way summer work shapes an edge along a flower bed: straight, deliberate, meant to be looked at as much as walked on. A driveway cut clean against a dusk sky out here reads almost like a drawing, banked snow squared off at the edges instead of left ragged. Finishing a property just as the last light goes feels like its own small victory, headlights taking over where the sun left off.
