Brott's Mowing

About Brott's Mowing

Two miles west of town, Wilson's Creek bends through its bottomland beneath pale-barked sycamores, and late-summer evenings in Battlefield carry a little of that creek-bottom coolness. Brott's Mowing keeps the town's lawns cut short and even, the plain, steady work of a mower making its rounds. Dusk is the gentlest hour for it: shadows stretch long across the grass, chimney swifts circle overhead, and the scent of fresh clippings hangs in the still air. A lawn finished at that hour looks almost combed, each pass laid neatly beside the last. Those rounds begin and end in Battlefield.
