Great Lakes Grounds & Snow L.L.C.

About Great Lakes Grounds & Snow L.L.C.

In January the St. Louis River runs black between its tilted slabs of rock below Thomson, and wind off Lake Superior carries snow up the valley all night long. Great Lakes Grounds & Snow L.L.C. works against that clock, plowing drives and lots in the dark so Carlton County wakes to open pavement and walks cleared down to the step. Come the green months the same ground gets mowing, trimming and edging, with cleanups in spring and again when the maples let go. Two seasons, one township: snow that arrives sideways, and grass that grows fast under a short, bright summer. Either way the standard holds — a property that looks handled the moment you turn in.
