Proulx's Lawn Care & Snow Removal

About Proulx's Lawn Care & Snow Removal

First light in a Woodbury January is a thin blue line over the eastern trails, and Proulx's Lawn Care & Snow Removal is already out in it, blades down, clearing driveways before the coffee is poured. This is plow-and-mower country between the Mississippi and the St. Croix, where a clipper can drop six inches overnight and June can turn a lawn shaggy in a week. Proulx's works both ends of that calendar — snow removal when the cold owns the town, lawn care when the light comes back. There is a particular satisfaction in a driveway scraped clean to the pavement while the streetlights are still on, and in a stripe of fresh-cut grass running straight toward the fence line. Around Ojibway Park and down the sleeping streets, that satisfaction is the whole job.
