By August the corn stands taller than the trucks on the Sibley County roads, and Winthrop's elevator is about the only thing above it for miles. Evening is the good hour then, sprinklers going, the heat easing off, lawns holding their color against all that field green. Green Keeping mows, trims and edges through it, keeping a straight stripe on the town's flat prairie lots and a tight line where grass meets sidewalk and drive.
