About Yard Worx of Winona LLC

Winona sits on an island of sand the Mississippi left behind, with Sugar Loaf standing watch above the lake and the bluffs turning gold in the late light. Yard Worx of Winona LLC works this ground season by season — mowing lawns that run green toward the water in June, keeping edges sharp along the old brick streets while barges slide past the levee. When winter comes down the river valley, the crew turns to snow removal, clearing driveways and walks while the town is still dark and the frost still hangs in the cottonwoods. There is a particular satisfaction in it: the clean stripe of a fresh cut, a path opened before the first boots of the morning. From Garvin Heights you can see the whole town at once, and somewhere down there is a yard just brought back into order. That is the work, and it is good work to do here.
