About TJ's Trucking & Excavating Inc

Winona is pressed between the Mississippi and a wall of limestone bluffs, with Sugar Loaf standing watch above town and Lake Winona curled along its southern edge. In February, after the barges have gone and the wind funnels down the river valley, snow can fill the streets of this old river town faster than anyone expects. TJ's Trucking & Excavating Inc brings the heft of its trucks and excavating gear to snow removal here, pushing back the drifts that gather between the river and the stone. It is deeply satisfying to watch a buried lot open up to dark, clean asphalt in the shadow of the bluffs. Here, between water and rock, keeping the way open is a craft worth doing right.
