Xcavate of Welch

About Xcavate of Welch

In summer the Cannon River at Welch carries a lazy parade of tubes and canoes, but by midwinter the water runs dark between snowy banks and the Cannon Valley Trail lies hushed under white. Xcavate of Welch takes on snow removal here, clearing driveways, lanes and parking areas when the storms stack up. Late-season snow in this valley can come down wet and heavy, the kind that clings to everything and refuses to slide. Wide, square-cut clearing keeps a Welch property reachable until the thaw sets the river running freely again. There is something deeply pleasing about turning a buried lane into an open road with a few steady passes.
