About Knutson Groundworks, LLC

Snow comes to Walker the way it comes to pine country: all night, without announcement, until the jack pine at the edge of the Chippewa National Forest are wearing sleeves. Knutson Groundworks, LLC meets it in the dark hours, when the plow lights are the only color on the road and the cold has a clean smell to it. The work is snow removal — driveways, approaches, the stretch of walk between a door and a truck — done so the morning starts unobstructed. A drive cleared before dawn is a small kindness, and it is the whole reason for getting up. Cass County winters are long ones; they go easier when somebody has already been through.
