Mesabi Mowers

About Mesabi Mowers

The name says it plainly: this is the Mesabi Range, where the earth runs iron-red a few feet under every lawn in Virginia, and Mesabi Mowers cuts the grass that grows on top of all that ore. Riders roll past on the Mesabi Trail, taconite trains sound off in the distance, and up and down the neighborhood streets the mowers keep their rows straight through the long-lit summer. Lawn care here is honest arithmetic — heat, rain, and daylight in, clean edges and even green out. The crew works it week by week until the tamaracks turn gold and the season closes the books. Until then, every yard is a small argument that this hard country can be soft in places.
