About Green Meadows Inc

The clippers come down out of the northwest in January, and by four in the morning Highway 5 through Victoria is a white ribbon nobody has touched yet. That is when Green Meadows Inc goes to work. The job is simple to say and hard to do: every driveway open, every walk cut clean, before the school buses and the commuters need them. In a Carver County winter that can mean plowing the same route three times in a night, blades down, headlights full of falling snow. The reward comes at daybreak — black pavement in a white town, and a whole street of people who got to stay in bed while it happened.
