Althoff Crane Yard

About Althoff Crane Yard

Tyler sits up on the Coteau des Prairies, where the land lifts just enough to hand you the whole sky at once. Althoff Crane Yard keeps lawns cut, trimmed and edged across that high open country, from town lots on the grid of quiet streets to yards set back at the end of long gravel drives. Late in the afternoon the light comes in low and sideways, and a fresh-mown yard turns two shades of green depending which way you walk it. Spring and fall cleanups clear what the prairie wind delivers — cottonwood fluff in June, a whole county's worth of leaves come October. The work is simple and it shows: a clean edge along the walk, clippings blown off the concrete, nothing left but grass.
