Milender's Lawn and Snow

About Milender's Lawn and Snow

Saturday mornings in summer, the neighborhoods around LaFave Park fill with the sound of mowers, and Milender's Lawn and Snow is part of that chorus. This is a hockey town, and its people understand cold; when January drops the temperature past zero and holds it there, Milender's is out digging out driveways and front walks so nobody has to fight the snow before breakfast. In the warm half of the year the work turns to grass — mowing and trimming, keeping yards neat from the river streets to the edge-of-town lots. The pride is in the little things: a walk shoveled clean to the pavement, a lawn cut so even it looks combed. Around Thief River Falls and its neighbors, that is enough to build a day's work on.
