About McDowell Landscapes

Ice-out on Lake McKusick is Stillwater's quiet starting gun — one week the lake is gray and solid, the next it is blue and loud with geese. McDowell Landscapes runs on that calendar. Spring cleanup and first mows follow the melt through the McKusick neighborhoods; all summer the mowers keep the lakeside yards tight and green; and when the lake seals over again, the plows and shovels come out for driveways and walks. There is a rightness to work that tracks the water so closely. The lake decides the season, and the crew answers it.
