St. Stephen Tree & Steam

About St. Stephen Tree & Steam

When a winter storm crosses the open farmland around St. Stephen, it arrives sideways, flinging snow across this small Stearns County town until field and sky blur into one white. St. Stephen Tree & Steam handles snow removal here, digging out drives and front walks once the wind has had its say. Drifts in this country pile up in the strangest places, against a garage door, across the end of a drive, right where the mailbox ought to be, and clearing them takes patience as much as horsepower. When the job is done, the church steeple stands against a scrubbed-blue sky and the way to the road lies open again.
