About RetroGreen Energy

There is a shade of blue that only shows up in St. Cloud around seven on a January morning, when the temperature has a minus sign and the snow squeaks underfoot like styrofoam. RetroGreen Energy, an energy outfit by trade, does some of its most visible work in exactly that light: snow removal for the coldest stretch of the Minnesota year. Cold this deep changes the job — snow falls dry as sugar, blows back into whatever you just cleared, and packs to ice the moment a tire touches it — so the clearing has to be thorough and it has to be prompt. Their crews get driveways and walks down to pavement while the sun is still a rumor on the horizon. By the time the town heads to work, the way out is simply there, as if winter had reconsidered.
