In June, the cottonwoods along the Minnesota River send their fluff drifting over Shakopee like a flurry that forgot the season — the only summer snow this town gets. The company called Summer Snow deals in the real thing. From the first November system to the last April surprise, its crews plow driveways, clear sidewalks, and manage ice across town, working storms at whatever hour they choose to arrive. The name is a wink; the work is not. When the genuine article is falling sideways at four in the morning, what matters is a blade on the pavement and a route that gets finished, and that is exactly what happens.
