Scandia Contracting & Farming

About Scandia Contracting & Farming

On the high farmland above the St. Croix River, a February wind can drift a Scandia driveway shut in an hour, carving the snow into ridges as sharp as dunes. Scandia Contracting & Farming works this rural Washington County ground whatever the month. In winter that means plowing long country driveways and opening paths to the door so the road stays within reach. In summer it means mowing and trimming lawns around homes and farmsteads, holding the grass in check against the green pressing in from the fields. Out here weather, timing and the lay of the land decide nearly everything, and the work is shaped around all three.
