About Nelson Turf Services LLC.

Turf has its own calendar, and Nelson Turf Services LLC. keeps it: the green-up after the last April snow, the June surge, the slow August hold, the second wind of September when the cool nights come back to Dakota County. In Rosemount that calendar plays out on lawns shaded by bur oaks and on open yards that catch sun from breakfast to dusk, and each one asks for something slightly different. The crew reads the grass — height of cut, direction of pass, when to let it rest — and mows accordingly. On an October morning with frost burning off the blades, a well-kept lawn here looks almost lit from within. That is the look Nelson works for, October through October.
