Perna Lawn Co.

About Perna Lawn Co.

Spring in Rogers announces itself in water — meltwater braiding down the ditches, running east toward the Mississippi at Dayton, carrying winter off a little more each afternoon. Perna Lawn Co. follows that turn of the year onto the grass: the first mow of May, when a whole street smells like cut green and lilac, is one of the best days on the calendar. Through summer the work is steady mowing, keeping lawns trim and level, yard after yard. When the water freezes again the same routes run in reverse, with plow and shovel, so driveways stay open and walks stay sure underfoot. Rogers, Dayton, Osseo, and Champlin — the seasons are big here, and the work rises to meet them.
