Tungland Services

About Tungland Services

Deep January in Olmsted County is its own country: twenty below at dawn, sundogs flanking the sun, and snow squeaking underfoot like styrofoam. Tungland Services works winter at full strength, clearing driveways and drives from Rochester's edges out toward the farm roads near Eyota, where the wind packs drifts hard enough to hold a bootprint. Cold like this forgives nothing — equipment has to start, routes have to run, and the snow has to move whether or not the thermometer cooperates. The reward comes standing at the end of a cleared drive in that brilliant, brittle light, everything open and passable. In a hard-winter town, that is what dependable looks like.
