Tulenchik Timber

About Tulenchik Timber

April in Pine River is meltwater and mud, the frost leaving the ground an inch a day, the red pines dripping all morning long. Tulenchik Timber waits for the ground to firm and then starts the season's first rounds: winter's litter raked off, the matted grass combed out, the lawn given room to wake up. After that comes the steady summer rhythm of mowing, trimming and edging, and a thorough cleanup once the leaves finally let go. Yards here sit in a country of lakes and cutover pine, and a kept lawn makes a small, clear statement inside all of that. It is good work to turn around and look back at.
