About Northern lakes lawn care and more

On a Saturday the lake roads outside Pine River fill with cars coming north, kayaks on the roof and a whole week ahead of them. Northern lakes lawn care and more tries to be finished before anyone arrives — grass cut, edges run, the gravel drive swept so the first thing a person sees is a yard in order. Mowing, trimming, edging and seasonal cleanups, all scheduled around a summer everybody up here is trying to use every hour of. Cabin lots are odd shapes, full of roots and slopes and a birch you have to duck under. Getting one right feels a little like setting a table.
