About Dukes Landscaping & Earthworks

Spring in Pine City announces itself by smell — thawed earth, the Snake River running high and brown under the bridge — and that is the season Dukes Landscaping & Earthworks waits for all winter. This is a company that thinks from the ground up: soil, grade, the way water moves across a yard, the way grass takes hold where the ground has been made right. Through the growing months they keep lawns cut and kept, working the sandy river-country soil that this part of Minnesota is built on. There is deep satisfaction in a yard that has been shaped and then tended, mowed so the light lies evenly across it at the end of the day. From first thaw to last cutting, the ground is their whole subject.
