Gun Lake Turf

About Gun Lake Turf

Palisade is a small Aitkin County town where the Mississippi slides past tea-dark and unhurried, curling through tamarack and wild rice country. Gun Lake Turf keeps lawns here, turning a stretch of northwoods yard into a place trim enough to pull up a lawn chair. Every cut follows the line where grass gives way to gravel or woods, so the property reads as finished from the road. Midsummer afternoons in Palisade carry the mingled scent of fresh clippings and river water, and dragonflies stitch the air above the blades as the mower passes. It is down-to-earth work, and it leaves a place looking loved.
