Onamia sits near the southwest corner of Mille Lacs, where the Rum River leaves the big lake behind and threads its way through town. In deep winter Mille Lacs becomes a village of its own, ice houses scattered across the white, while back in Onamia the snow banks up along driveways and lanes. Lakedale Landscape & Nursery handles both halves of that year, with snow removal through the frozen months, then garden planting, yard shaping and mowing once the thaw arrives and the Soo Line Trail fills with bikes again. The reward is easy to picture: a driveway open on a January morning, and by June a yard bright with new color. Lake country asks a lot of a place, and a well-tended home gives some of it back.
